Between my husband’s freshman and sophomore year of college he said he worked in a manufacturing plant. The plant had lots of stationary equipment, from metal forming dyes, saws, drills and vises. Just about all of this equipment were placed on one type of industrial bench, or another. He worked 3pm to midnight and it was a very small shift. His main job involved preparing the work benches for the next day. He would change out dye heads, saw blades, drills and re arrange vises base on the instructions of his supervisor. He said the work might have seemed boring, but he learned a lot and it was good exercise. He even learned how to drive a forklift.
