It Is Not Working At All!

I just read this article a while ago when I open my computer, I was redirected to yahoo and my eyes were stick to this post. And since I have to chat with Terry first and have to do the OPP real quick, I just left it open.

The article was about the reasons why your work outs aren't working, I frequently had work outs before but I was so surprised that it didn't work to me at all, I exerted too much effort for it but I still didn't get slim. I was disappointed so I stop

Here are the approach:

1. The faux pas Getting married to your strength routine

The facts If you do the same routine over and over, your muscles will simply adapt; you're likely to hit a plateau because each exercise stimulates only a limited number of muscle fibers. However, if you challenge your muscles from a variety of angles by adding or alternating moves periodically, you'll get significantly more fibers into the act and develop more tone and strength.

The fix For each muscle group, learn an additional 2 or 3 exercises, trying new angles and equipment. (If you can't get instruction from a trainer, there are plenty of books and videos organized by routine for each body part.) For instance, if you usually do the dumbbell chest press on a flat bench, try it at an incline. If you normally use the chest-press machine, try the dumbbell chest press or the bench press with a barbell. Expand your repertoire enough so that you can change your entire routine every 6–8 weeks.

2. The faux pas Performing your reps too quickly

The facts If you zoom through your repetitions when strength training, you'll be using momentum instead of muscle power. You won't get the same stimulus for muscle building, and you won't burn as many calories. You'll also be more susceptible to training injuries such as torn muscles or connective tissue.

The fix Take 6 seconds to perform each repetition: 2 seconds to lift the weight and 4 seconds to lower it. (Since you have gravity to help you lower the weight, you need to slow down even more on this phase in order to give your muscles a sufficient challenge.) Our experts agree that slowing down is the single most significant change you can make to get better results from strength training.

3. The faux pas Exercising too hard, too often

The facts If you don't rest enough between hard cardio or strength workouts, you'll stop making progress and may even lose some of the fitness you've gained. You're also likely to burn out on exercise.

The fix To keep your muscles fresh and your motivation high, alternate shorter, tougher cardio workouts (for instance, 20 minutes) with longer, easier days (40–60 minutes). Don't go all-out more than twice a week. Keep in mind that the more intensely you train, the more time your body needs to recover. It's a good idea to do a couple of tough workouts and take 1 day completely off each week. On the strength-training front, take at least 1 day off between sessions that work the same muscle group.

Curly Style

I never had a curly hair before and never attempted to have one, I thought I won't look good at it for I got a dark skin. I was thinking it will just look good to those women who had white skin.

So it was far beyond my plan to even try having one in my upcoming wedding, but Dhemcy of my Life's and Inspiration suggested a curly hair for the big day since my hair is long. There's no harm in trying right? So I guess this would be a perfect time to look myself with curly hair.

I printed out the hair style that was suggested and showed it to the hairstylist, I am not sure if she perfectly copied the style but even if it was not, I still like what she had done to my hair. It looks fine to me.

It still lacking of accessories though but were planning to put a decoration pin to hold the veil and to also look like as the crown.

We would work out the chest portion and the shoulder so to match the tone of the make up she had put in my face on the big day. She said she would put something on it.

Free Gift Snack At Apo View Hotel

When I went to Apo View Hotel to get my Diamond Club Card, Christine my friend and the in charge of the club gave me a gift certificate for a free buffet snack at Cafe Josefina in Apo View Hotel.

Christine said they are not usually giving customer too much freebees like this is, but since I was a member for quite sometime now, she thinks I deserve some treat.

I didn't use it as of now, I wanted to use it when I have the longer time staying in the hotel, Cheryl and I needed to go out as soon as possible to catch up the sales office in the other hotel so to inquire of their wedding package.

Well, there are reasons why we love to stay at the Apo View:

First, they had a crib for our baby Faith.

Second, ever since Faith was born we already stayed there every time Terry is here. And all the waiters, the crews even the bellboy knew her already.

Third, it is so affordable especially when you are a member of the Diamond Club.

Fourth, a lot of discounts you can get its either in the room and of the restaurants when you dine.

Fifth, it is near at South Gaisano Mall, Terry can just go there, anytime to buy us food if we would like to just stay and dine inside the room.

Those were only few and my personal say about the hotel, they still have more though when you get the package once you would register as one of their member in Apo Diamond Club.

Faith Playing With Pooh

That was the other night when Faith woke up from her in between evening sleep; we were still watching TV when we heard her cry from the bedroom.

I tried to let her go back to sleep but "Thanks, but no thanks MOM, because I still like to play" So we let her be, while the other kids were talking about school and the like, I was also videotaping Faith while she tried to peek a boo with her two Ate.

I saw Pooh on her crib and thought to talk like I was Pooh because I usually doing that to her, she simply smile and react when I am doing like that, mostly she would mutter some words which she can only understand.

But this time was different, she was somewhat crying and scared, I don't know maybe she was just overreacting or pretending like she was, but wait later on she pinch the nose of POOH! Hehehe

So Disgusting!

After the root canal session, I went to Apo View Hotel to get my Diamond Membership Card, I was quivering the moment I arrived at the hotel because of the cold weather plus the aircon inside. While waiting for Christine to give me the card, I ordered myself a hot brewed coffee so to feel the heat in my stomach.

It was already raining so hard when Cheryl arrived at the hotel; we headed right away to other hotel to inquire the rate of their function rooms. It was already seven p.m. when we were done at the second venue and because of the continuing heavy rains plus the traffic. We had our dinner around 7:30 p.m. and since I took a medicine for my sudden runny nose due to bad weather, I was already then starving at the moment.

As far as I could remember, we only ordered fried chicken and rice in a certain restaurant nearby. We went to the parlor immediately so to begin the trial make up but right after we went out from that restaurant my stomach began to feel like a butterfly was flying inside. My stomached get serious while doing the hair and make up and it gets worst when it was done.

I thought I could not reach at home without making myself embarrass, good thing that my friend's home was near that we can get a taxi cab immediately available for us. Oftentimes when it's raining here, there were only few cabs would go to our location, because most of the drivers would only choose a downtown area.

I am not sure if that was because of the hot brewed coffee I ordered or it was from the chicken wings we ate. Anyway, I know that it was so disgusting but thanks to my friend, she saves me from the supposedly the most embarrassing moment of my life! Aarrghhs

The Hairstyle

My Dentist is also the owner of that parlor beside her clinic. When I asked her if they cater make up and hairstyles on weddings. My Doctor drags me right away to where her parlor was situated and recommended one of her hairstylist.

As I mention to my other blog, were still looking for more options of who is who and which is which. So let me share to you the hairstyle he has done to my hair.

Cheryl told me that the hair doesn't look neat, there were many loose hair, that was not properly fixed, and even it was only a trial they should do their best so the customer would choose them to do your hair and the make up on any big day.

I am not expert on this, but what do you think of the color he puts in my eyes? [Excuse my not so good smile, Cheryl doesn't like me to smile at this picture but I just can't help it, after this, you know what? I burst out myself to laugh.] [Hahaha!]

The Front

The pictures were taken right after he was finish through my cellphone. What can you say about the result? Tomorrow would be another appointment with different stylist so I can choose which one is nice with good price.

Counting The Days

Right after Terry knows that his father's operation was successful and he already went out from the hospital. He then immediately look for available flight at the soonest time from his flight schedule before.

He let me decide for the dates and since the March flight is the cheapest one, I choose for it. I am so excited for March is fast approaching, we will meet up at Manila airport or at Bayview Park Hotel, depends on which one would be convenient to both of us.

Although, we would only spend there for two days, surely it will mark as one of those moments we would treasure forever because on that day, we will going to get a document for the upcoming wedding.

I am counting the days of his trip going here and counting the days of the big event to happen as well. I am overwhelm, head over heels excited and looking forward on those days to come.

This is his fourth visit to us, even so the feeling still the same when he came to see me the first time we saw each other.

My Two Good Friends

I guess, even though I don't have wealth I am still lucky because I have friends who keeps me company. Just like these two good friends of mine in the picture.

I have known Clarinda of my rendezvous since then, we had been friends for nine years already if I am not mistaken. She's a friend whose always there whenever her friends need her tips of advice. She is a friend who doesn’t hesitate to offer her shoulder when you wanted someone to cry on.

Nevertheless, her family is always her inspirations on her journey, they are always on her first list, that even she got nothing for herself as long as she serves her family well, that already make up her day.

I always impressed of how she views life together with her siblings and parents. And now that she will get married. With her passion and love for her family I am certain that she will be successful as a wife and a Mom soon.

On the other note, Cheryl, my partner in crime has given me enough colors in my white and gray life before, she has been my pal when I worked as a call center agent. We have shared so many laughs everytime we log out from work at 4:30 a.m. You could hear our laugh echoing in the four corners of the street, while walking to where the jeepney stops.

She's always my organizer when Terry and I have to set up a party and my singer as well, you could also include her as the photographer. [Hehehe]

Anyway, its either I am with Clarinda or with Cheryl when I go out, expect my smile gets so wide when they crack some jokes. These two friends indeed has been a part in my life and wherever I maybe this friendship will always be in my heart and I'll be forever thankful that I found them as my two good friends.

I Had A Weird Dream

Alright! There are times that when I dream of something, sometimes it would happen in the next day. Just for instance, when I was yet in my third grade I dream that I was hit by a cab, in the next day it really happen and yes all the things that happen in my dream like the hospital, the doctor and the suite I was in after the accident was happen on that afternoon.

So whenever I dream of something, more often than not I lay down my head and prayed for it. This morning after I chatted with Terry, I decided to take a nap before I do research for my neighbor's project.

And then suddenly, I was in a place where I am not familiar with I was with my nephew Dodong, Mj and my sister Merlyn. I saw the kids playing around, suddenly a kid approached me saying and pinpointing a house that the residence of the house has molested kids and said he cannot take it anymore. I did not paid attention until MJ and Dodong where nowhere to be found and I only suspected to nothing else but that house.

I went over to the house and there I saw in my own eyes how they did that to the other kid. I couldn't found my nephew and Mj on sight because they were put with the other kids in the other room, so they did not saw what happen to the next room though some kids were there as their audience, watching of what they were doing.

And all I thought for that very moment was to attack the woman who was about to stand up, but she was late to defend herself because I pulled her hair off, she wasn't able to move and the two men around her, my sister called for a rescue I drag the woman outside the house as I saw the NBI came, I told them what happen but when we went inside the house the evidence was not there. I saw the two men already chopping roasted pork. I told the NBI to search the place because for sure they were just pretending but exclaimed though if they can't find any evidence we have the kids to witness their horrible act to these kids.

And as the NBI search the place, on the spur of the moment I heard my sister calling my name and when I open my eyes I saw her waking me up because I was dreaming and murmuring some words that she can't understand. Faith woke up too when she heard me uttering some words.

If what I dream was true please help me pray to have those kids in safe hands.

Can I Carry Your Bag Mom?

You can expect a lot of things inside my bag when you check for it. I got big purse for make ups, two wallets, actually the other one was not a wallet, it was more a storage for receipts, my passport and that was supposed to be the case too of my checks before, but I dispatched my checks for the bank can't sustain their customer diligently. Imagine they mark account closed of the check that I issued in Pag Ibig for my housing loan despite that I have enough in my account to pay my due for my loan.

I made a complain and instead to settle those things with my bank, I told them to withdraw all my money instead and close the account fully, that check was intended only for my housing loan and if they can't do their work pretty well, what is the reason for me to stay, right? Now, I am paying my loan in cash basis instead, I don't have to chase after my minimum amount in that bank and I can save more so I thought what happen was a blessing in disguise.

I also got keys, coin purse, and some papers, my bag is also quite big and a bit heavy. So when my little Faith tried to carry it, she looked like she was carrying one sack of rice. Despite of that, she still want to get it in our couch where I place my bag and pulling it all over again and again.

Would You Still Like To Stay?

During my High school days, writing a love story was always my past time, I remember to only write it in an extra notebook and my avid readers were my classmates. That aspiration to become a writer was never pursue, well besides from it gave me migraine right after I finished one story, the scholar organization that I attended to do not offer MassCom courses so I better have to stick with the courses that available on the said organization.

When I was in college, I got to witness friends who had their boyfriends fetching them up right after school, friends who were broken hearted, friends who were confused whether to leave them or not. During the time I was the only one among my friends who don't have a boyfriend to fetch me up from school, so all the time I got all the tease from them, asking when could I have one, my response was always "Accounting is so hard and I think boyfriend could only make it harder [LOL]

Since I still have the piece of being the writer [kuno] I thought to lay a love case to my friends.

Here it is:

This girl had a long time boyfriend; they had been together since third year high school until college. They're almost to finish their college when the girl found out that her boyfriend had another girlfriend. The boyfriend asked for forgiveness when she confronted her about the third party, they have settled on for a few days until the other girl talked to her and said she's pregnant and she's afraid that if she would confessed this to her parents alone, her parents would cussed her to death. More than anything else the baby needs a father and the other girl is asking for her boyfriend to go back to her. She felt pity for the other girl situation, she confronted her boyfriend about this and then again, the boyfriend said sorry and that he did not actually love the other girl, and what happen to her and him, was only an accident. The boyfriend said he love's her so much and he wanted to marry her. The girl was confused, would she still stay with her long time boyfriend, whom she love's so much or give him up to the other girl for the baby?

Some of my friends said they would give up their boyfriend if that is that case, one said she would fight for her love no matter what, besides her long time boyfriend love's her still, he can still acknowledge the baby but should she never allow to give him up to the other girl.

Talking About Grades

Monitoring kids grade is sometimes hard especially when you are monitoring a high school gal, you could just be surprise when you have the card at hand.

When I was in high school I was very much careful not to hit the two numbers, that looks like ax, my sister, since I don't have parents at all, don't monitor that very serious regarding my grades but for me, to hit those bad numbers are a failure. So I strive my very best to at least get on top.

Yes I have the difficulty in Math I actually hate it! I don't like the Y sub 1 Y sub 2 because I always end up with Y na sab tan, but even so, I never get so shy to ask my classmate about it, I always ask their assistance when I can't understand the figure and all, and of course I also help them when they found some other subject, that is hard for them to understand too, I assist them also in some way.

Maybe what made some other girls, to find the subject hard because they cannot concentrate about it, they got extra curricular activities at home like computers, mp3, PMP, play station, Nintendo and all that. Unlike before we only got TV to watch, during my days, right after school I immediately turn on our TV to watch "The Ang TV" I guess some of us could still remember that, it was a program for teens who shows their talents like singing, acting and dancing. As far as I could remember Claudine Barretto is a product of the said series. At five p.m. I prepare our food for dinner, all my sisters were working at that time, and so I was the one who’s in charge of the food and all that stuff.

Then after dinner, I still got to wash the dishes and fix the table while they were watching TV, and if I were done, I would turn the page of my book and will start my assignments. I hope my niece would realize these things, I am not saying she is not striving to do her task at school but computers and some other things would always make her not to concentrate much, I want nothing else but her to be better in every way because soon enough, when she finish her college she could use all the things she had learned from school.

The "IT" Movie

I am sorry but if you want to ask me about the movie and rate about it, it got only two stars and the story is very common and that they need more workshop? I know both actor and actress were really trying so hard their best for the up come of this movie but it's only my opinion though and I guess our point of view regarding the movie would differ with what I thought and you so don't mind my ranting here. [LOL]

We should have watch The Push and not that but since sister Merlyn was really up to the actress, even she doesn't tell me. I opted to watch the "IT" movie, the first one was better than this I guess I consider the previous one a blockbuster [Hehehe]

I hope this would be their last tandem and if they have another one, they should choose a story or set something that is new to the viewers. I am not against the celebrity especially the actress, in fact I admire of what she had become and her beauty as well. And as everyone said she is kind and very sympathetic to unfortunate people, I guess she just need more training to be a better one like the other young actress does. I mean look at them at early age, one was already awarded as the best actress and some always got a blockbuster movies.

Anyway, we can still get some lesson from the movie and it is "Money can't buy happiness" What would you do about luxurious life and all if the one you choose to get married, is not the one you can be happy with. Simple things can make you exactly complete as long as you are happy with the one you choose to be with the rest of your life.

I'm Glad She's Back

One of my closest friends who went in Dubai last year together with her husband just came back in Davao last night. Actually they got back and stopped by in Manila a week before last week and message me real quick that they are interested to buy a house in Davao.

I didn't know yet what happen in Dubai because the last time I talked to her was that she does not want her husband anymore to work in a ship, she is more prefer to have him and one of their option was to go to work in Dubai.

But all a sudden here she is and her husband was back in the ship. Dubai has been the place that almost all Filipino's wanted to go to work, they said that there are a lot of jobs awaits to every individual though recently one friend told me that the said place was having recession and was already affected with the GLOBAL CRISIS.

I know that they would have a better life when her husband is on the ship, but with her dreams to be together with her husband for years and not only for months is something that she is actually wanting for. But sometimes life doesn’t go on the side that we preferred to; sometimes it goes in the opposite direction. And that we can't prevent to happen but I believe of their love and the willingness of each other, I know they would survive of not being in each arms, of being too miles apart.

As love is patient, love is kind and is not jealous; love does not brag and is not arrogant.

Suddenly...

We still had some left food from the Birthday bash, last Sunday and we put it inside our freezer so it will not spoil. And that we can still eat it; we just have to heat it during mealtime.

Since I got too busy last Sunday, I was not able to taste the LECHON, even my long time favorite Fruit Salad, it's the first one that was finish. I was so excited to take some bite of the LECHON Mariel fried it this dinner.

But after I ate it, while writing this post, I felt suddenly numb at the back of my neck and I felt so heavy. Could my blood pressure goes high because of that one bite? LOL I had my normal blood pressure during my delivery of Faith, and this thing just happen now.

Gosh! I always knew all my relatives had a High Blood Pressure when they get older, is this sign that I belong to the family? Should I welcome myself?

Treasured Award

Party With Barney

Faith already had given less interest of the mascot at the School Christmas Party, last year. She cried so hard when we went near the tiger looking mascot and embraces me so tight, afraid of looking eye to eye.

She was too shy to even look at my visitor during her day. She would smile at them but when they would attempt to carry her, she would hug me so tight trying to hide her face.

When Barney came, everyone was cooing and some kids were giggled, so thrilled with Barney. But not Faith, she even cried so loud when we got in front and she was feeling like somebody must rescue me from Barney! Wahhhh!!!

Well opposite to Faith, Mj always love mascots and Barney of course. She hug not me but Barney when Barney arrives and dance with him a bit.

Poor Chicken

The pig incident today reminded me of the live chicken we bought when I was working yet in LOTRIM. Our boss kept a snake in their warehouse for good luck and every month they would feed the snake with the live chicken.

I was stunned when our company driver put the live chicken where the snake awaits his meal inside the cage. The chicken keep on jumping, it’s his way to avoid the snake when it would attack him. But the wily snake takes aback and attack the chicken when the chicken did not notice him and then right there, the chicken was being wind around then slowly swallowed the chicken.

Gosh! I felt pity for those eyes of the chicken, he seems begging for help and okay, you might think this weird but did you see chicken cries? Well I just did!

Faith Says Walk!

Yes! She can say walk, she don't utter it perfectly but if you try to listen the word very intently you can figure it out that she was trying to say walk.

Faith had been practicing her butt to walk from late last year, we had her stood up for how many minutes, she was scared at first and never should she attempt to move a single step, to make her comfortable and for her to be not afraid that much, she would hold her two hands altogether so tight.

But last month just before her upcoming birthday, she successfully move one, two and three steps, from then on even she stumble at times, never she surrender of taking more and more steps. Now, she is learning how to run yet. [Hahaha]

Passionate Blogger

The Woman Who Delivered Eight Babies

Nadya Suleman was the name of the mother who delivered eight babies on January 26, 2009 in Kaiser Permanente Bellflower Medical Centre, California. Ms. Suleman a single mother already has six kids has been overwhelmed by offers of book deals, TV series or shows and the like.

Kids Invitation Card

It was done and so I was busy printing at least 50 or more copies of it. The invitation card is not at all glamorous; it was simple and small indeed. What matters most is that we were able to make those. Thanks for Kuya James who always on the rescue on making a free lay out. Of course if you like to ask for his service, it should but with fee.

I like the way the card looks like though, it perfectly adopted the Barney color, which is purple. Well, it supposed to be Dora but since Dora is not available and will be busy shopping and roaming around the village, Barney was the second option.

I wish the kids would enjoy this simple party we would offer them specially Faith who is not much into Mascot.

Do you want to harden your abdomen or have it contour with muscle. My-brother-in law has been following this steps for quite sometime now, and it somehow effective for him. Here it goes:

Circuit Training # 1

• Warm up 15 to 20 minutes
• Push up 6 to 10 times
• Sit up 10 to 15 times
• V-sit 5 to 7 minutes
• Back extension 10x L&R
• Squat jump 10 times
• Cool down

Circuit Training # 2

• Warm up 15 to 20 minutes
• Push up 6 to 10 times
• Russian twist 10 time L&R
• Roll back 10x
• Back extension (superman style 10 to 15 times)
• Sit up (half) 10 to 15 times
• Cool Down

Circuit Training # 3

• Warm up 15 to 20 minutes
• Pelvic L&R 10 to 15 times
• Sit up (half) 10 to 15 times
• Push up 10 times
• Back extension (superman style 1o times)
• Roll back 10 to 15 times
  
• Cool Down

So that was it! I hope those exercise tips would enhance more and hardened your abdomen. Remember being healthy is wealth.

I Wish

I don't know how to react with this issue nor how will I put my opinion into words that no one will be affected. I know some will react badly on this post, I understand but I want you all to know I am not biased on the other side but I don't blame the other side as well.

I am a true believer of GOD, and it is true that it is against the will of GOD to kill other people. But I wish that these bad people will change and will not do things that make the people lives miserable and distress. Killing is not the answer for this so called neither poverty nor robbing other people's hard work. We are all suffering for this crisis and don't you reason out that you don't have any choice but to kill these innocent people who only went to the market to feed her family.

I am only an ordinary citizen who sympathize this family whose Mom was gone because she tried to protect her 1000 peso bill to buy fishes, and vegetables. I am sympathizing the other side too who had been rumored as the suspect and got killed as well. I hear those cries of both parties and I am with what the church has been campaigning but I hope these bad elements in our society would also hear this campaign and lead them to change. I wish and pray of no robbing, no selling of prohibited drugs and no killings.
